Within the social care administration, about 1200 dedicated employees work to provide support and care to those in need in our municipality. The work takes place within elderly care, home care, disability services, social psychiatry, and individual and family care.

The Placement Unit, which is one of seven units within Individual and Family Care, is now looking for a child secretary for one year with the possibility of extension. The mission of the Placement Unit is to follow up, ensure quality, and work to ensure that our placed children grow up in safe, stable, and loving conditions. We work with children placed in emergency homes, foster homes, HVB homes, SIS, and support housing.

The unit consists of 13 employees; unit manager, administrative assistant, five child secretaries, four foster home secretaries, and two emergency home secretaries. Connected to the unit, we have a visitation apartment, and in open care, a family therapist works focused on visitation and family treatment for the placed children and their families. There is also an ongoing project between the Placement Unit and the Child and Student Health with a school coordinator who has overall responsibility for a good and well-functioning schooling for the placed children.

We have a clear child focus, and therefore one of the most important tasks for our child secretaries is to get to know the child to create a relationship. We are convinced that a good relationship with the child results in the best possible conditions for helping the individual child in the best way.

Both women and men with extensive experience of placed children work in the unit. We are a close-knit group that works very closely together. The unit is very focused on development and is currently developing work with backing the child and placed children.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a child secretary, you are responsible for following up on the placed child and considering/reassessing care every six months according to SoL/LVU. The work also includes investigating according to BBIC in issues such as concerns for the child, additional support around the child, and visitation issues. Requests for care termination are investigated by our colleagues in the Child and Family Unit, and investigations regarding custody transfers are investigated by our colleagues in Family Law.

You often work individually based on our work model but have a co-worker you can turn to in all matters. You also work closely with the supervising foster home secretary in the case. The main and most important task of the child secretary is to keep the child in focus and, by creating a relationship with the child, be able to follow the child's development and help the child grow up in safe conditions.

Your tasks also include contact with the child's parents and other important people/agencies around the child, such as preschool/school, BUP, dentist, and Mariamottagningen. We actively work with the SAMS model. You also have a lot of contact with our open care that works with the child and the child's parents with the aim of reuniting the child with their parents, if possible. QUALIFICATIONS

As a child secretary, you need to be a secure and stable person. You need to have a good empathetic ability that you combine with the ability to create good relationships with the children we work with.

In the work, you need to be calm, stable, and have the ability to maintain a realistic perspective on situations that arise in daily work. You will meet many people in crisis and/or with complex life situations, which means that you must be able to see opportunities, convey hope, and meet people in a respectful manner.

It is important that you can work independently and structured by planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work well. You also need to have a problem-solving analytical ability and be quick to assess and make decisions as you work with complex issues. The work also requires that you are comfortable making safety assessments on children and young people.

The position requires that you have an easy time expressing yourself in both speech and writing.

Since we are a group that works together and supports each other, it is important that you have good collaboration skills, enjoy working in a group, and share yourself.

Requirements: Degree in social work and B driver's license

Meritorious: Worked or are working as a child secretary, worked or are working with children and youth within social services, knowledge of working with SAMS, knowledge of the operational system Lifecare.
